The truth is that we cannot tell who is mentally ill and who is not mentally ill by taking pictures of their brain or analyzing their blood.
Mental illness is something that someone does, real disease is something that someone has, such as Diabetes, or Parkinson’s disease.
Real disease, such as Diabetes or Parkinson’s Disease can be found at the time of death, in a cadaver, at autopsy, but mental illnesses such as the various functional disorders cannot be found at the time of death, in a cadaver, at autopsy proving if a person had a mental illness, such as a functional disorder, or did not have a functional disorder while he or she was living, obviously there does not exist a biochemical physiological definition for the neurobiology of the human brain relationship between functional disorders and their respective pathology.
